A Beacon in the Rain
A poem for Sally Beske by Michael Barber, read by Dr. Richard Wing.
A Beacon in the Rain
A Beacon in the Rain
Her smile shines through darkness
Her laughter paints the sky
Storm clouds gather quickly
To hide the reason why
Her arms wrap tight around us
Warm spirit midst the pain
Sadness yields to happiness
A Beacon in the Rain
Like music, words reverberate
Up tempo leads the way
Her callers hang on every note
Past melodies replayed
A trio stands before her
Cloaked in joy and pain
Sharing words of happiness
A Beacon in the Rain
Some say she is an angel
Some say she’ll always be
The Heaven we all long for
In everything we see
Her long goodbye is savored
Everyone makes claim
To the lady’s light forever
A Beacon in the Rain
